BiFiles Forum Guidelines for a Respectful and Inclusive Community

Welcome to the BiFiles Forum Community Guidelines. The BiFiles Forum is a supportive, privacy-aware discussion space for bisexual, bi-curious, and questioning adults, as well as respectful partners, friends, family members, and supporters.

BiFiles creates and maintains the main discussion topics so conversations remain organised, focused, and easy to find. Visitors can read public discussions without an account. Registered members can reply when they feel ready.

By participating, you agree to follow these guidelines, respect other members’ boundaries, and help maintain a calm and constructive community.

1. Treat other people with respect

Be kind, considerate, and mindful that many discussions involve personal questions, identity, relationships, privacy, mental wellbeing, and experiences of discrimination.

Respectful disagreement is welcome. Harassment, humiliation, threats, personal attacks, intimidation, or deliberately dismissing another person’s identity or experience are not allowed.

You may disagree with someone without attacking them.

2. Do not question whether someone is “bi enough”

Members may use different labels, understand attraction differently, or still be unsure how they identify.

11. Personal experiences are not professional advice

Forum replies may contain personal experiences, opinions, and general information. They are not automatically accurate, complete, professional, or suitable for every person.

Do not diagnose other members, prescribe treatment, falsely claim professional qualifications, guarantee outcomes, or pressure someone to ignore qualified medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or safety advice.

BiFiles is not an emergency service, healthcare provider, counselling service, or substitute for qualified professional support.

12. Report problems instead of escalating them

Use the report option attached to a reply when you believe content may violate these guidelines or the Forum Terms.

Submit reports honestly. Do not use reporting tools to retaliate against someone, silence respectful disagreement, or create pressure through repeated false reports.

13. How moderation works

BiFiles may moderate content and accounts to enforce these guidelines, protect members, comply with applicable law, maintain topic focus, and preserve the usefulness of the Forum.

Moderation actions may include:

  • asking a member to change their behaviour;
  • editing formatting or removing identifying information;
  • moving a reply to a more relevant discussion;
  • adding a moderation note;
  • restricting links or account features;
  • hiding or removing content;
  • temporarily suspending an account;
  • permanently banning an account;
  • preserving relevant records for safety, legal, or dispute-handling purposes.

Moderation decisions may consider context, seriousness, repetition, intent, risk, previous behaviour, and the effect on other participants.

14. How the main discussion topics work

BiFiles creates and maintains the main topics. Registered members can reply to existing discussions but do not normally create new main topics themselves.

This structure reduces duplicate discussions, spam, personal advertisements, and isolated topics while keeping recurring questions easy to find.

A brief description is enough. You do not need to publish your full personal situation.
