What Helped You Feel Less Alone After Realising You Were Bisexual?

Realising you are bisexual can bring relief, but it can also make you feel unexpectedly alone.

You may not know any other bisexual people personally. You might be in a straight-looking or same-gender relationship and feel that others do not really see this part of you. Sometimes even LGBTQ+ spaces do not immediately feel like somewhere you belong.

For some people, feeling less alone comes from finding one person who understands. For others, it is reading other bisexual people’s experiences, joining an online community, seeing bisexual representation, or simply learning that their questions are not unusual.

What helped you feel less alone after recognising or accepting your bisexuality?

Was there a particular person, community, story, conversation, or moment that made a difference?

And if you still sometimes feel disconnected, what kind of support or community do you wish existed?

Share only what feels comfortable. You do not have to be fully out or socially active to deserve a sense of belonging. 💜
