Sometimes you notice someone and feel drawn to their appearance, confidence, body, style, or the way they express their gender. But understanding what that feeling means is not always straightforward.
You might admire someone, want to look like them, feel romantic or sexual attraction toward them, or experience several of those feelings at once.
For some people, this uncertainty becomes part of questioning their bisexuality. Others begin exploring their gender identity or expression and wonder whether what they previously understood as attraction was partly gender envy.
Gender envy can involve wishing to look, express yourself, or be perceived in a way that resembles someone else. It does not automatically determine your gender identity or sexual orientation.
Admiration, attraction, and gender envy can overlap, and there is no single experience that everyone must recognize.
Have you ever struggled to distinguish attraction from admiration or wanting to be like someone?
What helped you understand the difference, if anything?
You are welcome to share your experience without choosing a label or reaching a final conclusion.
