Including bisexuality on a dating profile can make it easier to be open from the beginning, but it can also change who approaches you and what they assume.
Some people mention it because they want to filter out partners who would react negatively later. It may also help them connect with other bisexual or LGBTQ+ people without turning disclosure into a separate conversation.
Others leave it off because they prefer to build trust first, are not publicly out, or have experienced fetishisation, invasive questions, rejection, or unwanted attention from couples. Keeping the label private at first does not necessarily mean hiding dishonestly; a profile cannot contain every personal detail, and people are allowed to decide when disclosure feels safe and relevant.
The choice may also depend on the app, what kind of connection you are seeking, and whether its privacy and orientation settings feel reliable.
Have you included bisexuality on a dating profile—or deliberately left it out—and how did that choice affect the people you matched with and the conversations that followed?
Please avoid suggesting that everyone must disclose through their profile. Privacy, safety, visibility, and dating goals differ.
