Bisexual people on dating apps are sometimes approached by couples even when their profile clearly says they are looking to date one person.
A couple may assume that bisexuality means automatic interest in joining an existing relationship, or begin with one person’s profile before revealing that a partner is also involved. Even when the invitation is polite, receiving the same assumption repeatedly can feel objectifying and make ordinary dating more difficult.
Couples are allowed to seek consensual connections, but honesty and boundaries matter. A bisexual person should not be treated as an addition, an experiment, or a solution to someone else’s relationship. Interest in more than one gender does not reveal whether someone wants group dating, non-monogamy, or any particular sexual arrangement.
Profiles and filters can help, but they do not always prevent unwanted approaches. Blocking, reporting misleading profiles, or stating a boundary briefly may sometimes be the most practical response.
