Online communities can provide recognition and support, but some people also want bisexual connection that exists offline.
Finding it is not always easy. General LGBTQ+ events may not include much visible bisexual representation, while dating spaces can feel too focused on attraction or relationships rather than friendship and community. Smaller local groups may exist but be difficult to discover, inconsistent, or uncomfortable for someone attending alone.
A meaningful offline community does not have to be large or exclusively bisexual. It might be a discussion group, Pride organisation, book club, volunteer project, peer-support space, social event, or simply a few people with whom bisexuality can be discussed without explanation or judgement.
Safety and accessibility also matter. Cost, transport, disability, privacy, age, culture, and fear of being recognised can all affect whether an event genuinely feels welcoming.
Have you found an offline space where you felt comfortable as a bisexual person, and what made it feel like real community rather than just another social event?
