Has Anyone Ever Told You That Being Bisexual Excludes Trans or Non-Binary People?

I’ve seen people say that bisexuality means being attracted only to men and women, or even only to cisgender men and women. Sometimes people are told that if they’re attracted to someone who is trans or non-binary, they must actually be pansexual instead.

For some people, that kind of message is just confusing. For others, it can make them question a label they’ve been comfortable with for years or feel like they have to defend what being bisexual means to them.

Have you ever been told that being bisexual excludes trans or non-binary people?

Did it affect how you understood your sexuality or which label you used? And if you’re trans or non-binary and bisexual yourself, has anyone ever questioned how those parts of your identity fit together?

Share only what feels comfortable.
