Coming out is sometimes described as a single decision: tell someone or don’t.
But often the harder part is not knowing what will happen afterwards.
Someone may have always seemed supportive of LGBTQ+ people, but you still do not know how they will react when it becomes personal. A partner may accept bisexuality in general but suddenly have questions about attraction, fidelity or what it means for the relationship. Family or friends may respond kindly, awkwardly, dismissively, or need time to understand.
That uncertainty can make even a relatively safe situation feel difficult.
Before you came out as bisexual, what reaction were you most worried about?
Was it rejection, being treated differently, uncomfortable questions, disbelief, stereotypes, being outed to other people, or simply not knowing what would happen?
And looking back, was there anything you wish you had considered or prepared for beforehand?
