Bisexual men can face a particular set of assumptions in relationships.
Some partners worry that attraction to men means a bisexual man is secretly gay, that he will eventually “choose a side,” that monogamy cannot satisfy him, or that being attracted to more than one gender automatically makes him more likely to cheat.
Those fears can become exhausting when a bisexual man is repeatedly expected to prove that his attraction, masculinity, commitment, or relationship is genuine.
At the same time, partners are allowed to have questions and insecurities. A healthy relationship needs room to discuss trust, sexual health, past experiences, privacy, monogamy, and boundaries without turning bisexuality itself into evidence of dishonesty.
For bisexual men: what do you wish a partner understood about dating you?
For partners of bisexual men: what helped you separate genuine relationship concerns from stereotypes or fears about bisexuality?
Were there particular conversations, boundaries, or forms of reassurance that made the relationship feel more secure?
Share only what feels comfortable. You do not need to disclose sexual history, identify a partner, or provide private relationship details.
