Bisexuality is often reduced to simple definitions or familiar stereotypes, while people’s actual experiences can be far more varied.
For one person, the hardest part may be having their orientation judged by their current partner. For another, attraction may change in strength or feel different across genders. Others may wish people understood that being bisexual says nothing by itself about monogamy, relationship style, dating experience, or how publicly someone lives.
This topic does not ask anyone to represent every bisexual person. It is a place to name one part of your own experience that people often overlook, misunderstand, or make assumptions about. It could be something difficult, ordinary, positive, contradictory, or simply hard to explain.
What is one bisexual experience you wish more people understood, and what do people usually get wrong about it?
Please speak from your own perspective rather than defining bisexuality for everyone. Different answers can all be valid.
