Do Bisexual Community Spaces Feel Equally Welcoming Across Genders?

A community may describe itself as bisexual while still feeling easier for some genders to enter or participate in than others.

Bisexual women, men, non-binary people, and people of other genders may encounter different stereotypes, levels of visibility, and expectations. Some may feel overlooked, treated primarily as potential dates, viewed with suspicion, or uncertain whether discussions reflect experiences like their own.

This does not always result from deliberate exclusion. A community can gradually become shaped by whoever participates most visibly, which topics receive the most responses, and which experiences are treated as typical. Even so, people may withdraw when they rarely see themselves represented or feel they must defend why their perspective belongs.

A more welcoming space does not require every discussion to apply equally to everyone. It does require room for different gendered experiences without turning those differences into competition.

Have you ever felt that a bisexual community was more welcoming to some genders than others—and what specifically created or reduced that imbalance?

Please speak from personal experience and avoid generalising about entire genders or treating different experiences as a contest over who faces the most difficulty.
