Attraction does not always fit neatly into the labels we already use.
You might identify as straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual or something else and then find yourself attracted to a trans or non-binary person. That experience can raise questions about what your sexuality means — especially when other people insist that one attraction must automatically change your label.
For some people, a new attraction does lead them to understand their sexuality differently or choose another label. For others, it does not change how they identify at all. One person does not have to function as a test that calculates your sexual orientation for you.
Has attraction to a trans or non-binary person ever made you question how you describe your sexuality?
Did you change your label, keep the one you already used, or decide that finding the perfect label was not important to you?
And did other people ever try to tell you what your sexuality “must” be because of who you were attracted to?
